One wedding in three parts

What do you mean, 3 continents?

Although Cyprus recently joined the European Union, geographically it is considered a part of the middle east and thus a part of Asia. The Netherlands are on the European continent. And the USA is in North America.

So our wedding will take place in three separate ceremonies on three separate continents.

What are the 3 parts?

Declaration of Love
In Limassol, Cyprus on Saturday, 14 August, 2004 we will share our feelings for one another in front of family and friends in attendance. This will also include our formal declaration of our intention to be married.

Exchange of Vows
In Rohel, The Netherlands on Saturday, 21 August, 2004 we will exchange vows and declare ourselves married. We intend to recognize 21 August as our wedding anniversary.

Ring Ceremony
In Raleigh, North Carolina on Saturday, 28 August, 2004 we will perform our ring ceremony, in which we will exchange rings to symbolize our union in marriage.

But what about a "real" wedding?

What? You don't think three ceremonies on three continents is enough??? This IS a real wedding!

OK, but will there be a legal wedding?

Because there are certain legal advantages, we will have a civil ceremony, but it is a side issue to us.

Well, will there be a church wedding?

No.
